Julia grew up outside of Boston, MA, and was influenced most by her older brother, another singer/songwriter who writes from his heart. She moved to Redlands in 2013 where she promptly joined her band Small Spaces. Her recent solo work delves deeper into her own experiences and is a collaborative effort with local producer Carey Nordstrand with Happy Frog Studios.
